Corey Tait: Roaring Bears are Raring to go

Implementing their learnings from previous campaigns and playing their best rugby is at the top of the priority list for the Bears for this coming FOSROC Super Series Sprint campaign, explains hooker Corey Tait.

Results haven’t always gone their way in previous years, but the 20 year old is certain that the Boroughmuir outfit will give everything they’ve got this tournament.

“I’m raring to go. We’re not going to be afraid to play from anywhere.

“One thing we’ve learnt from the last few years is not to be scared to play if the opportunity does come, and obviously playing smart as well.

“Our main focus is to just get stuck in, play as hard as we can and show what Boroughmuir’s made of.”

The try line isn’t a stranger to Tait, as he snatched up four five-pointers in last years FOSROC Super Series Championship from the back of the maul. He does stress however, that his success doesn’t just come from just individual effort, but his teammates’ as well.

“I just try to play as well as I can and hopefully the team has success as well.

“A lot of my tries have been on the back of mauls so I can’t take much credit for them but we’re just ready to go as a team, we’re looking forward to our first game.”

The former Scotland U20 player is not shying away from the ‘w’ word, and is hoping his team will put in a strong fight until the very end.

“You obviously want to play well individually but as a team as well, our target as a team is to win.

“We’ve come through the last few years and we’ve improved and we’ve developed and our main goal is to win it. For myself, I just want to play as well as I can in that.”
