Kick-off your Six Nations weekend with Scotland U20

New home and ticket packages the latest innovations aiming to raise the profile of the next generation of Scotland’s young talent.

Following the recent announcement of Hive stadium as the home of Scotland U20 for the 2024 Under-20 Six Nations, Scottish Rugby can now confirm a new set of ticket offerings to support the move.

Scotland U20 will play both of their home 2024 Six Nations games at Edinburgh’s Hive Stadium on the Friday night before the men’s equivalent Six Nations games, presenting the perfect opportunity for rugby fans to kick-start their Six Nations weekends.

The decision to host Scotland U20 games at Hive Stadium follows Scotland Women’s popular move to the venue last season, and is the latest in a number of innovations designed to expose Scotland’s young talent to the rigors of elite, professional rugby and to boost the profile of the Scotland U20 team.

Scotland Men France and England tickets: SOLD OUT
Following the Scotland Supporters Club pre-sale, match tickets for both Scotland’s home games in the 2024 Guinness Six Nations, against England and France, have sold out. As a result, there will be no public sale.

Higher intensity on the pitch

The first of these new initiatives is already in place, with the introduction of the FOSROC Future XV team into the FOSROC Super Series Championship. With the aim of better preparing Scotland’s young players for the challenges of international U20 rugby and beyond, the FOSROC Future XV squad contained 28 contracted academy players aligned to either Edinburgh Rugby or Glasgow Warriors where they train alongside the professional club’s senior players. Almost half of this squad featured in the Scotland U20 squad that competed in the World Rugby U20 Trophy competition in Kenya in the summer.

“We are committed to providing more high-performance opportunities for our players,” Scottish Rugby’s Performance Director Jim Mallinder said at the launch of the team earlier this year. “After the inclusion of the two professional A squads in this year’s FOSROC Super Series Sprint, this is yet another exciting step towards bridging the performance gap between the amateur and professional game. Providing a higher-level competition and increased time in high-performance environments for our U20 players ensures that we are best preparing them for the ever-increasing demands of international rugby.”

Scotland U20 head coach Kenny Murray is looking forward to bringing the squad together for the forthcoming U20 Six Nations. “We hope to reap the benefits of their inclusion in this year’s FOSROC Super Series Championship in the form of the FOSROC Future XV,” he said. “We saw some great individual and team improvements throughout the Super Series, and we hope these efforts come to fruition in the upcoming Under-20 Six Nations campaign.”

Heightened matchday atmosphere

To complement the desire to provide greater intensity on the pitch, Scottish Rugby also wants to provide Scotland’s young talent the best experience of playing in front of the biggest possible crowds. Hence the move to Edinburgh when the capital is already full of fans in town for the men’s Six Nations game.

Hive Stadium, within the Murrayfield campus, is only a short 10-minute tram-ride from the city-centre, so fans can come along on the Friday night and enjoy a drink and some food before the match and get back into town easily afterwards to enjoy the rest of their night in the capital.

Kenny Murray welcomed the move: “Playing our home games at Hive Stadium is a great opportunity for our young up-and-coming talent to have a taste of the Murrayfield matchday experience,” he said. “Hive Stadium is the perfect place for fans to kick start their Six Nations weekend and supporting the Scotland U20 team is a great way to warm up for the Men’s fixtures the following day.”

New Ticket Packages

As part of the move to Hive Stadium, the ticket offering for Scotland U20 has been enhanced to bring it in line with the other national teams. The team doesn’t play enough home games to warrant a Scotland U20 Season Pass, but a couple of packages built around the Six Nations home games will be introduced for the first time this season, in addition to individual match tickets.

Six Nations Weekend Pass: SOLD OUT
The Six Nations Weekend Pass is a totally new package designed to cater for the many thousands of supporters in Edinburgh for Scotland’s home weekends in the 2024 men’s Six Nations Championship against France and England. It includes a ticket to both games in the one weekend: the Scotland U20 match on the Friday night at Hive Stadium, and the Scotland Men’s game the following day at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

Following the Scotland Supporters Club pre-sale which started at 10am Monday 4 December, the new Six Nations Weekend Pass (comprising tickets to the Men’s Six Nations game and the U20s game the night before) has SOLD OUT for both England and France weekends. Because of the capacity of Hive Stadium for the U20s games, the number of Weekend Passes was strictly limited, and so there will be no public sale of Weekend Passes scheduled for Tuesday 5 December.

U20 Six Nations Two-Match Package
Similar to the bundled packages offered for select Scotland and Scotland Women multi-match series, the package this season is for fans who want to see both Scotland U20 games, against England U20 and France U20. (In seasons where Ireland, Wales and Italy are playing, there will be a 3-Match and two 2-Match packages available.)

Match tickets
Individual match tickets for the U20 games will go on sale at the same time as the U20 Six Nations Package and will be priced the same (for adults, students, U18s and U12s) for all four stands at Hive Stadium.

Pricing
Prices for Scotland U20 match tickets and packages can be found below. Full details on the Six Nations Weekend Pass, including total prices and availability in each category, will be published shortly.
