Scotland U20 will take on Wales U20 at Merthyr RFC this afternoon as preparations begin for the 2026 U20 Six Nations.
Fergus Pringle takes charge of the Scotland U20 for the first time, having previously been an Assistant Coach for the side.
Ross Wolfenden captains the team, the Edinburgh Rugby prospect starting at inside centre having previously represented the side at stand-off and full-back.
Joe Roberts and Jamie Stewart are back involved at hooker and tighthead prop having both played in the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship, and are joined in the front row by Billy Kerslake at loosehead prop.
Finn Ronnie and Sam Byrd, who joined the Edinburgh Rugby pro-academy in summer, make up the second row, and Harry Jackaman at blindside flanker, Harvey Preston on the openside and Rory Purvis at number 8 complete the pack.
Hamish MacArthur and Felix Champain start at scrum-half and stand-off, while Wolfenden is joined by outside centre Henry Kesterton in the midfield.
The team is rounded off by left winger Mitchell Newell, Max Garry on the right and Henry Widdowson at full-back.
Jack Utterson, Oliver McKenna, Jackson Rennie, Henry Black, Joe Lloyd, Oliver Finlayson-Russell and Ollie Anderson make up the forward replacements, and Adam McKenzie, Calum Jessop, Alex Bryden and Cameron Gettenby are primed to come on in the backs.
Pringle said: “We’ve had a hit-out against a Combined Academies side but today gives a chance to see where we’re at against another international side.
“Training has been really good this week and I’m excited to see us transfer it into an competitive game.”
