Head Coach Fergus Pringle said: “It’s been a long preparation block for us, we’ve been in since early December so have had a good two months of preparation. Its good to finally get to game week.”

“Italy have got a really strong group this year, they’ve got some players who have already been capped for the Italy senior team so we’re aware it will be a tough challenge against a very physical team.

“They have shown they have a strong set piece, alongside some very exciting backs so it’s really nice to be able to test ourselves against a strong team like this to see where we are. We really are going to have to give our best on the pitch to be able to get a result out there.”

• Four of the starting XV for tomorrow’s game started the fixture against Italy U20 last year, including the entire front row (Oliver McKenna, Joe Roberts, Ollie Blyth-Lafferty and Christian Lindsay) – Nairn Moncrieff also featured in that game from the bench.
• Moncrieff made the second-most dominant tackles in the 2025 U20 Six Nations, tied with his teammate from last season Reuben Logan.
• Scotland U20 will be seeking a first away Six Nations win since beating Wales U20 in 2020; earlier in that same campaign, they beat Italy U20 30-29 at Stadio Mirabello.
