Hollie Davidson is set to make yet more history after she was appointed as referee for the Ireland v Italy match in the 2026 Guinness Men’s Six Nations.
Davidson, who took charge of Wales’ game against New Zealand in November, will become the first female to referee a Men’s Guinness Six Nations fixture in Dublin on 14 February.
Her list of officiating accolades to date is impressive enough and includes: 48 Test matches (34 women’s and 13 men’s), Olympic and Commonwealth Games, two Women’s Rugby World Cups, numerous World Sevens Series events and of course being named in Scottish Rugby’s Hall of Fame in October of this year.
Now, Hollie is set to achieve another milestone by being in the middle at the Aviva Stadium for Ireland’s first home match of next year’s championship.
She will also be an assistant referee for the final fixture of the 2026 Guinness Men’s Six Nations as France host England in Paris, while Mike Adamson will be the Fair Play Review Officer for England v Ireland, and Television Match Official when Wales host Italy.
Scotland’s five fixtures will be refereed by Ben O’Keefe (against Italy), Nika Amashukeli (England), Matthew Carley (Wales), Angus Gardner (France) and Luke Pearce (Ireland).
In the Under-20 Six Nations, Ru Campbell has been appointed to referee Wales U20 vs. France U20.
Reflecting the appointment, Hollie Davidson said: “Refereeing in the Guinness Six Nations is a massive honour and a match I’m really looking forward to.
“The last year has been very memorable and I’m focused on continuing to perform well. To be the first woman to referee in the tournament is obviously a proud moment and an achievement I’ll properly be able to reflect on in years to come.”
