Dig out your vintage kit and club colours for autumn

Fans are being invited to join Murrayfield’s Centenary celebrations during the upcoming Quilter Nations Series by digging out their favourite Scotland kits and club colours.

The New Zealand and Argentina test matches will this year have unique fan-centred opportunities. The newly released Murrayfield 100 shirt will be worn by the Scotland team against the All Blacks on November 8, and fans are being asked to replicate that – or wear their favourite vintage Scotland top to the game and show their history from the stands.

This not only showcases the legacy of the stadium, but nods to the history of the stadium and the great Scotland teams to have played there and their iconic strips.

Meanwhile, the Scotland-Argentina match has been nominated as this season’s Club Colours Day, where Scottish Rugby is asking ticket holders to don their community club shirts for the Sunday November 16 match.

Club players and supporters are being encouraged to wear their local kits to acknowledge and celebrate the member clubs of the Scottish Rugby Union, which owns Scottish Gas Murrayfield, and to create a visible connection with clubs and the stadium.

Scottish Rugby’s chief customer officer, Olaf Gueldner, said:

“This is our way of recognising that without club rugby, our national teams could not represent Scotland on the international stage like they do.

“So, pull on your old Scotland jerseys for the USA, New Zealand, and Tonga matches. But for Argentina, we hope to see great representation from our 150 full member clubs, wearing club kits from all over the country.”

Scottish Rugby plans to showcase the best, most colourful, and most passionate community club fans throughout the course of the matchday.

More information on those plans will be communicated in due course.
