Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership Feature match: GHA RFC v Currie Chieftains

30 Jan 2026

Round 17 of the Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership gets under way when GHA face-off against Currie Chieftains on Saturday 31 January.

The last time Currie and GHA met it was a 100-point encounter and Currie claimed the victory 61-43. Sixteen points now lie between the two sides in the table.

In Round 16, GHA suffered a tough loss against Ayr who top the table, so they will be looking to regain their momentum against another dominant side. Sitting at 38 points going into the match, just two points behind Watsonians in fourth, a win could see GHA push themselves into the top four come the end of the weekend.

The visitors will look to reclaim bragging rights when they travel to Braidholm after suffering a narrow 27-25 win against Hawick last weekend.

Three things to watch out for this weekend:

  • Kelso will be looking to claim their 10th win of the season against a powerful Ayr side. After a 42-19 loss to them earlier in the season it will be all to play for as they look to cement their spot in third place in the table.
  • Glasgow Hawks will look to continue their winning ways when they face Melrose at Balgray after an impressive 39-26 victory over Selkirk last weekend.
  • When Heriot’s and Selkirk met in October, it was a narrow 31-27 win for the Edinburgh side, so this encounter could go either way.

This weekend’s fixtures:

Saturday 31 January:

GHA RFC v Currie Chieftains (2pm kick-off)

Glasgow Hawks RFC v Melrose Rugby (2pm kick-off)

Hawick RFC v Watsonian FC (3pm kick-off)

Kelso RFC v Ayr RFC (3pm kick-off)

Selkirk RFC v Heriot’s Rugby Men (3pm kick-off)
