Friday 19 April: Southern Knights v Edinburgh A
KO 7:35pm

Edinburgh Rugby A opened the scoring at a frantic place thanks to tries from Rob Carmichael, Finn Douglas (2) with all three converted by Cammy Scott.

Knights hit back mid-way through the half thanks to quick thinking by Finlay Scott converted by Callum Grieve.

Charlie Shiel, Ben Muncaster and Finn Douglas crossed the whitewash again with two more conversions from Cammy Scott before the half.

HALF-TIME: Southern Knights 7-40 Edinburgh A

The hosts opened the scoring in the second half when winger Ethan McVicker fought his way over the whitewash, converted by Callum Grieve. Edinburgh A then hit back with a try by hooker Paddy Harrison converted by Isaac Coates.

Knights hit back with a try from the back of a rolling maul from stand off Gregor McNeish before Edinburgh A full-back Jack Brown scored in the corner once again converted by Coates.

Friday 19 April: Ayrshire Bulls v Stirling Wolves
KO 7:35pm

Hosts Bulls opened the scoring with the first of three James Malcolm tries in the first 40 minutes of the match, two of which were converted by David McCartney.

Youngster Joe Roberts went over for Wolves which was converted by Marcus Holden before Blair McPherson scored just before the half which was also converted by McCartney.

HALF-TIME: Ayrshire Bulls 26-14 Stirling Wolves

Bulls opened the scoring in the second half thanks to electric winger Luca Bardelli before Ryan Southern went over for the Wolves (converted by Holden)

Replacement Fergus Johnston scored for the home side and converted his own try before James Malcolm went over once more for good measure to seal the win for the Bulls.

Saturday 20 April: Boroughmuir Bears v Glasgow Warriors ‘A’
KO 3pm

The first score of the afternoon came for Glasgow as play was brought down the field and Jonny Morris tanked over the line with ball in hand. Richie Simpson’s kick hit the posts.

The Bears quickly responded when the ball got into the hands of captain Scott Robeson who found space in the Glasgow defence and slipped over the line. George Paul made the conversion, bringing the hosts in front.

Another break from Bears skipper Scott Robeson saw him score his second try of the afternoon with a successful conversion from George Paul.

During the process, Glasgow’s Gregor Brown was shown a yellow card.

The Bears were on fire as this time, in the 28th minute, Matt Reid raced past the Glasgow defence to dive over the line. The conversion by George Paul was successful.

HALF-TIME: Boroughmuir Bears 21-5 Glasgow A

Glasgow kicked off the second half scoring as replacement prop Callum Smyth crashed over to add another five points.

The visitors picked up the pace and a third was added by stand-off Richie Simpson who sprinted past the Bears defence and over the line. Captain Ben Afshar added the extras.

Matt Reid added his second in the 64th minute when he proved too quick for the Glasgow defence and squeezed the ball in the corner.

Saturday 20 April: Heriot’s Rugby v Watsonians
KO 3pm

It took four minutes for the hosts to get scoring underway as Sam Wallace offloaded to Ruaridh Leishman who sprinted down the wing to crash over the whitewash. Liam Richman scored the extras.

Only three minutes later, Leishman did it again as the flanker galloped down the other wing to add another five points. Richman added the extras.

A break from Sam Pecqueur let Heriot’s grab their third five-pointer through Matt Davidson who raced down the wing to score.

The bonus point try came for the hosts as an offload from Fergus Wood got to Sam Wallace and he tanked over the line.

A fifth came for the hosts through a heavy driving maul as hooker Cammy Fenton rumbled over the line.

Watsonians finally managed to add their first points merely seconds before the break, as Lewis Berg charged over. The extras were added by Jason Baggott.

HALF-TIME: Heriot’s Rugby 29-7 Watsonians

It took almost 15 minutes for the second half scoring to get underway, but the hosts added their sixth try of the afternoon when Sam Pecqeuer dotted down in the corner.

And another came for Heriot’s when Christian Townsend gathered a pass from Lewis Wells to dot down over the line.

Watsonians responded with two minutes to go when some quick passes got Hugh Flinn over the whitewash. Jason Baggott made the extras.

The visitors had the final word through a sprint from Dom Coetzer which added another five points with the conversion from Jason Baggott.
