Scotland squad named ahead of Guinness Women’s Six Nations 2026

Comprising 21 forwards and 17 backs, will be led once more by Rachel Malcolm and includes three notable returnees in the form of stand-off Meryl Smith, winger Shona Campbell and lock forward Louise McMillan.

Smith has now returned to action in the PWR having recovered from an ACL injury at the end of 2024, where the young playmaker has been topping the charts with both her goal kicking and carries, whilst Campbell has been named for the first time since the 2024 iteration of the competition, having impressed for Sale Sharks in the PWR, scoring seven tries in the competition so far this season.

McMillan also comes back into the squad for the first time since Scotland’s WXV2 campaign in 2024. The experienced second/back row player recently captained Saracens to the PWR Cup title, and her team sits in second place in the regular season standings.

Of the selected group, 24 players were also named in Scotland’s Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 squad, providing continuity and experience within the wider training group.

Fukofuka has also invited seven Development Players into the squad, all of whom have featured in this season’s Celtic Challenge for Glasgow Warriors and participated in last season’s Six Nations Summer Series for Scotland U20. Holland Bogan (second row), Emily Coubrough (back-row), Poppy Fletcher (loosehead prop), Imogen Spence (tighthead prop), Aicha Sutcliffe (hooker), Ceitidh Ainsworth (stand-off) and Rianna Darroch (scrum-half) will train with the squad as part of their ongoing development and will also be available for Scotland Women U21s squad for the upcoming Six Nations Series.

These seven players as well as Alex Stewart, Aila Ronald, Hannah Walker and Hannah Ramsay are all support by Scottish Rugby via the newly established Central Programme operating from Oriam, Scotland’s national performance centre for sport.

The squad will convene at Oriam on Tuesday 31 March as preparations ramp up for the championship.

After facing Wales in Cardiff on Saturday 11 April in the opening round, Scotland will host England on Saturday 18 April at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, before travelling to Parma to face Italy a week later. A fallow week then sees France make the trip to Edinburgh on Saturday 9 May, before the championship concludes in Dublin at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 17 May.

Injuries: Lisa Thomson (foot) and Sarah Bonar (back) are not yet available for selection as they continue their rehabilitation.
