Scotland Women secure another record!

28 Aug 2025

Hot on the heels of their record-breaking win over Wales at the Women’s Rugby World Cup, Scotland Women have now exceeded the most tickets sold for a home international fixture.

The game against England’s Red Roses in the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations has become Scotland Women’s biggest-selling game ever. Thanks to the incredible reaction from fans to the move from Hive Stadium to Scottish Gas Murrayfield, the confirmed crowd is already the highest ever for a home Scotland Women game – some eight months out from the match itself.

The previous crowd record for a home fixture was England’s last visit in the Guinness Women’s Six Nations in 2024, in front of a sold-out Hive Stadium. This season’s game has reached this total in under three months!

Gemma Fay, Scottish Rugby’s Head of Women’s & Girls Rugby who announced the move to Scottish Gas Murrayfield in June, is delighted: “It’s great to see Scotland Women breaking records off the pitch as well as on it,” she said when hearing the news. “Just a week after beating Wales by a record margin, to see our game against the Red Roses next April reaching the equivalent of a sold-out Hive Stadium already, is fantastic.”

Ticket offer extended!

The introductory discounted ticket offer (£15 for Adults; £10 for Under-18s; £5 for Under-12s) was planned to end when the highest-ever crowd for a home Scotland Women game was reached. However, to celebrate the team’s performances at the Rugby World Cup so far, and for achieving the home crowd record so quickly, the discounted ticket offer has been extended for one more week.

“We want to celebrate this amazing record along with the fans so have decided to keep running the discounted offer for a bit longer,” said Olaf Gueldner, Chief Customer Officer at Scottish Rugby. “The incredible support the team is getting during the Women’s Rugby World Cup is reflected in the response to our game against England being moved to Scottish Gas Murrayfield. To already have a crowd that matches our biggest ever, eight months in advance, is proof of the connection this team has with its fans.”
