Two changes for Scotland U20 Six Nations finale

12 Mar 2025

Head Coach Kenny Murray has made two changes to his Scotland U20 side for their final 2025 U20 Six Nations fixture against France U20 at Stade Jean-Bouin, Paris on Friday (kick off 8.15pm GMT) – live on BBC iPlayer.

Seb Stephen and Bart Godsell come into the starting forward pack, having both featured from the bench in Scotland’s win over Wales at Hive Stadium on Friday night.

Stephen comes in at hooker, and is joined in the front row by loosehead prop Oliver McKenna and Ollie Blyth-Lafferty who again keeps the tighthead prop berth.

Godsell joins the second row, partnering Dan Halkon. A consistent back row sees Oliver Duncan continue at blindside flanker, captain Freddy Douglas at openside and Reuben Logan at number 8.

In an unchanged back line, the half-backs are again made up of scrum-half Noah Cowan and stand-off Matthew Urwin. Angus Hunter is at outside centre having made his debut last weekend, joined by Kerr Yule on the inside.

Fergus Watson starts on the left wing, and Nairn Moncrieff is again on the opposite side. The team is completed by Jack Brown at full-back.

On the bench, props Jake Shearer and Jamie Stewart, alongside hooker Joe Roberts, are primed to come on in the front row. Lock Charlie Moss and back-row Mark Fyffe complete the forward replacements.

Scrum-half Hamish MacArthur and winger Cameron van Wyk, who were both involved from the bench against Wales, are joined in the replacements by stand-off Ross Wolfenden to complete the 23.

Murray said: “As a group we enjoyed the win last weekend. It was good to see us perform across the full 80 minutes as that’s something we’ve been working towards for the full campaign.

“We still had plenty of things to work on in training this week, and we know we’ll have to go up another level on Friday night against an excellent France U20 side.

“We want to end this campaign with another good performance and show we’ve made some steps forward as we build towards our World Rugby U20 Championship return in summer.”
