Scotland’s Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 fixtures confirmed

Scotland’s group stage fixtures for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England have been confirmed today, with the Scots set to play in Manchester and Exeter.

Scotland will open their World Cup campaign against Wales at Salford Community Stadium in Manchester, kicking off at 2.45pm on Saturday 23 August.

Scotland Women recorded their first consecutive victories over Wales since 2005 when they faced off at Hive Stadium in the Vodafone Series in September. Scotland will once again face Wales in the Guinness Women’s Six Nations at Hive Stadium next year.

Their second match will also be played out of Manchester based stadium the following weekend as they take on Fiji. Kick off is also at 2.45pm.

Scotland played Fiji for the first time in their history earlier this year in the build up to the WXV competition. Scotland notched nine tries in an entertaining win at Hive Stadium, recording their largest home win of the 21st century, 59-10.

Scotland’s final group stage match will be played at Sandy Park, the home of Exeter Chiefs on Saturday 6 September at 12pm when they take on Canada.

Prior to 2018, Scotland had only ever played the world-ranked number two side at Rugby World Cup competitions. Their first meeting came in 1994 where Scotland won 11-5. Their last Test match against each other was played at Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow, where Scotland narrowly lost out 25-28.

The pool stage will culminate in a huge weekend of matches across four venues, with the two best teams on competition points in each pool qualifying for the quarter-finals and the knockout phase.
