Prop Callum Smyth began his rugby career at the age of four at Kettering RFC, before joining Northampton Saints when he was thirteen.
He moved from England to join Selkirk RFC in 2022 and played at Scotland U18 level in the same year.
Smyth was one of three players awarded the coveted Macphail Rugby Scholarship at the beginning of 2023, where he spent five months immersed in South Africa’s renowned rugby culture at the high-performance training facility at Stellenbosch University.
In 2023, Smyth was named as one of the FOSROC Scottish Rugby contracted academy players aligned with Glasgow Warriors. He made six appearances for the FOSROC Future XV team during the 2023 FOSROC Super Series Championship.
