Lisa's rugby journey began in her hometown of Melrose, the birthplace of rugby sevens.

She developed her foundational skills with Jed Minis and progressed through the ranks, representing East of Scotland U18s, Scotland U18, and U20 teams. Her early dedication to the sport was evident as she played for clubs like Langholm U15 – securing the Brewin Dolphin U15 Cup in 2012 – and Murrayfield Wanderers U18 before joining Melrose Ladies.

Lisa made her international debut for Scotland on February 5, 2016, against England in the Six Nations opener at Broadwood. Her leadership qualities were soon recognised, leading to her captaincy of the Scotland Women for the 2018/19 season.

Since then Lisa has gone on to represent Scotland across multiple Six Nations championships, the Rugby World Cup 2021 (played in 2022) and both WXV2 competitions in 2023 and 2024.

On April 16 2023, Lisa earned her 50th cap for Scotland, becoming the 26th player to reach this milestone in the team’s history.

Balancing academics with athletics, Lisa pursued Applied Sports Science at the University of Edinburgh. In 2017, Lisa became the third player in Scotland Women’s history to earn a professional contract. She took a hiatus from her studies to join Lille Métropole Rugby Club Villeneuvois (LMRCV) in France for the 2017/18 season, gaining valuable international experience. Upon returning, she played for PPWR sides, including Sale Sharks and DMP Sharks.

In sevens rugby, Lisa debuted for Scotland in 2016 in Prague and was a consistent selection for subsequent seasons. She has participated in six Rugby Europe tournaments, the World Rugby Women’s World Series Qualifiers in Hong Kong, and was part of the Scotland squad invited to the 2019 Biarritz leg of the Women’s World Series and in 2022 she also played for the Commonwealth team.

In 2021 she added the title of ‘Olympian’ to her accolades when she featured in the GB team at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Her exploits on the Sevens circuit then earned her a central contract to represent GB7s as the home nations joined forces in 2022, and she was then selected for the squad in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Lisa played a key part in helping the Great British side qualify for the Olympics, securing Gold Medals at the inaugural 2023 European Games.

Lisa’s achievements as a cross-code player were recognised in 2024 through a joint partnership between Scottish Rugby and Scottish Gas, when Lisa’s profile was cast into a sustainable statue.

Continuing her professional journey, Lisa signed with Ealing Trailfinders for the 2024/25 PWR season.
