Born on June 26 1995, in Edinburgh and raised in Jedburgh, Chloe Rollie has become a cornerstone of Scottish women's rugby, renowned for her electrifying pace and agility.
Chloe’s rugby journey began at the tender age of eight, inspired by her family’s involvement in the sport—both her father and brother played rugby. She started playing at Jedburgh, where her early exposure to the game laid a solid foundation for her future career. A product of Parkside Primary and Jedburgh Grammar School, Chloe further honed her skills with the Melrose Ladies before moving to Murrayfield Wanderers, where she continued to develop her skills.
Chloe made her Scotland debut as an outside centre in the 2015 Six Nations opener against France. She then transitioned to the full-back position, a role she has made her own with outstanding performances.
Throughout her international career, Chloe has been instrumental in Scotland’s successes, earning player of the match accolades in victories against Wales and Italy during the 2017 Six Nations, where she scored a brace against Italy. Her remarkable length-of-the-field try secured a historic win for Scotland against Ireland in Dublin during the 2018 campaign.
In 2017, Chloe became Scotland’s second professional female athlete in rugby alongside Jade Konkel and Lisa Thomson. She has been a full-time contracted player ever since.
Other milestone moments for Rollie in her international career have included representing Scotland Women Sevens – winning the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Trophy in 2017 and representing at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 – the 2021 Rugby World Cup (played in 2022) and she was also included in a wider training squad with Great Britain 7s team ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
Chloe’s club career has been marked by significant experience. She spent two years with Lille Métropole Rugby Club Villeneuvois in France, where she refined her skills and gained valuable exposure to European rugby.
In 2019, she joined Harlequins in the PWR. She went on to feature in their 2021 League Final, which saw Harlequins defeat Saracens to win their first title. Her career continued with stints at Exeter Chiefs and Loughborough Lightning, where she was a key contributor to their attack. In July 2024, Chloe signed with Ealing Trailfinders.
