Leah's passion for rugby ignited at the tender age of five when she joined Loughborough Rugby Club.
Progressing through the ranks, she played for Loughborough Town before advancing to Loughborough Lightning, where she honed her skills as a prop.
Leah made 56 appearances in the Premier 15s for Lightning and featured for the club from their inception in 2017, the first ever season of the Premier 15s. Playing in the club’s inaugural fixture, she has the distinction of holding Lightning heritage number #001.
Leah comes from a large family as one of seven siblings. Her brother, Ewan, has also been involved in rugby, representing the Scottish Exiles. Leah qualified for Scotland through her parents – her mum was born on Lewis and her dad is from just outside Inverness.
In January 2020, Leah received her first call-up to the Scotland national team. She made a memorable debut against Spain, marking the occasion with a try. Since then Leah has gone on to feature across multiple Six Nations championships, the Rugby World Cup 2021 (played in 2022) and both iterations of the WXV2 competition.
In 2022, Leah was one of 28 players who received full-time professional contracts from Scottish Rugby as part of its continued investment into the women’s game.
Leah’s club career saw a significant move in 2023 when she joined the Leicester Tigers. This transition marked a new chapter, allowing her to bring her international experience to the Premier 15s league and contribute to the Tigers’ ambitions.
Away from rugby, Leah works with young elite athletes aged 16 to 18 on lifestyle and wellbeing programmes.
