How the 2026/27 away kit was built on stone and ice

22 Jul 2026

Following the debut of the new home kit under the lights against Fiji last Saturday, the second half of Scotland's international look is officially here.

Available to supporters starting today, the 2026/27 away kit shifts the focus from the sweeping Scottish coastline up into the highest, most formidable reaches of the country. Designed alongside Macron, the new away kit is built to be as rugged and robust as the peaks that define the Scottish horizon. Shop the 26/27 Away Kit Online Now.

Inspired by the 282 Munros

While the home kit highlights the sea and shore, the away jersey draws its identity from the topography – that being the physical and natural landscape – of the country. This ice-white kit represents the glacial shifts that carved Scotland’s high country over millions of years helping form the peaks and valleys we know and love today.

Embellished across the design is a tribute to those wild peaks. Scotland’s famous 282 Munros that run from the south-west of Stranraer all the way to the far reaches of the Shetland Islands are represented on the shirt worn by the people that stand up for this land. Mountains climbing over 3,000 feet and only found in Scotland these towering Munros are symbols of endurance, standing firm against the harshest elements.

Completed by white shorts and socks, the look is clean, powerful, and deeply connected to the land that the Scottish Rugby community calls home.

Premium finish

Even on the away kit, the core symbols of Scottish identity remain front and centre. On the left chest, a new application of the Scottish Rugby crest balances heritage with a modern look, matched on the right by a three-dimensional, thermoplastic Macron Hero logo for a high-quality finish.

Inside the collar, a bespoke tape features the word “Scotland” alternating with the traditional thistle, while the “Designed in Bologna” branding inside the shirt celebrates the craftsmanship and development at the Macron Campus in Italy. The shirt’s premium construction also includes a re-engineered neckline for an improved, comfortable fit, ensuring it feels as good on a long hill walk as it does in the thick of a physical match.

Engineered for performance and sustainability

In terms of technology and fabric, the away kit shares the exact high-performance make-up that the players wore for the first time last weekend at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in the home jersey. In line with Scottish Rugby’s commitment to environmental responsibility, the entire collection is made from Eco Fabric, a 100% post-consumer recycled polyester derived entirely from recycled plastic bottles.

To withstand the demands of the modern game, the shirt employs a blend of specialised materials. The primary fabric is Eco Armevo, which is designed to offer outstanding durability and high-performance strength during intense play. This is paired with inserts of Eco Bodytex and Eco Strong Mesh, which are placed strategically to ensure the shirt remains incredibly light, breathable, and flexible under pressure.
