The squad came together three weeks ago and have had midweek sessions and weekend camps to prepare for the fixture.

Cruikshank said: “This is a chance for us to get a look at the players in a competitive fixture against what will be a good England U20 side.

“We’re looking for the squad to show what we’ve worked on in the camps so far and to continue their development in that international environment.

“Some of the squad have been involved with The Thistles so they have a chance to push on further, and for some this will be their first experience of senior representative rugby so it will be a great opportunity for them to play in that next level of the international game.”

Scottish Futures will then have two camps in April before taking on Wales U23 on Sunday 23 April at the Oriam.
