National Schools Cup semi-finals drawn for 2023/24 competiton
Following on from the quarterfinals in the National Schools Cup competitions, the semi-finals for the 2023/24 season have now been drawn. More details can be found below.

U18 National Schools Cup
George Watson’s College were first to secure a spot in the semi-finals, narrowly defeating Strathallan on home turf, 21-17.
Edinburgh Academy triumphed on the road, beating Howe of Fife/Bell Baxter High School, 12-24.
Merchiston Castle earned their semi-final spot with a 26-13 victory over Loretto School, whilst Fettes College missed out on a coveted spot in a 34-5 loss to Stewart’s Melville.

U16 National Schools Cup
In the capital head-to-head between the Edinburgh Academy and Royal High, Accies claimed the spoils with a 35-17 win.
In a close contest, Merchiston Castle prevailed over Marr College, 24-15.
Both Stewart’s Melville College and George Watson’s College booked a semi-final spot, defeating High School of Dundee (40-5) and St Aloysius College respectively (7-36).

U18 National Schools Shield
Glasgow’s Kelvinside Academy scooped a 42-19 win over George Heriot’s for a semi-final placing, whilst Dollar Academy claimed a 19-50 victory over North Berwick High School.
Just one point separated Marr College and High School of Dundee, with the visitors edging the win (24-25).

U16 National Schools Shield
The Glasgow derby between Glasgow Academy and the High School of Glasgow did not disappoint as only one try separated the sides at the full-time whistle, but it was the High School that claimed the win (20-25).
Elsewhere, Dollar Academy were defeated 29-37 by Hutchesons’ Grammar School, whilst Fettes defeated Linlithgow Academy 52-17.
North Berwick High School and Strathallan will face off on Tuesday 14 November to determine who plays Hutchseons’ in the semi-final.

U18 National Schools Plate
St Columba’s (Kilmacolm) booked their semi-final spot with a 1-33 win over Berwick, whilst Queen Victoria School triumphed over Lomond & Helensburgh (34-17).
In a tight contest between Gordonstoun School and Knox/Haddington, it was the Morayshire side that came out on top with a narrow 11-7 victory.

U16 National Schools Plate
In a nail-biting quarterfinal, Lomond & Helensburgh emerged victorious in their fixture against St Leonards Madras Blues, 22-19.
In another hard-fought game, Lathallan just edged a win from Cumnock, 27-29.
Dunbar Grammar defeated Howe of Fife/Bell Baxter High School 76-0, whilst St Columba’s (Kilmacolm) beat Preston Lodge High School 43-21.

U18 National Schools Bowl
The Bowl quarterfinal round comprised of two x three-way round robin ties across both the U18 and U16 age groups. The winner of each round robin tie earned the home advantage in the semi-finals, and will host the second place team.
