The last time the two sides met in October 2025, Selkirk edged Melrose 26-24 in a riveting seven try encounter at Philiphaugh.  

Selkirk are currently sitting in last place on the table and will be feeling the pressure in a must-win fixture.  

Melrose, who have suffered 10 defeats so far this season, will go into the fixture eager to claim bragging rights in front of their home supporters at the Greenyards.  

The match will be broadcast live on BBC ALBA this evening with kick-off at 7.35pm. 

Three things to watch out for this weekend: 

• GHA and Heriot’s are currently sitting fourth and fifth, tied on 34 points, so both sides will have their eyes on a win to cement their place in the top four as we reach the business end of the season.  

• Currie Chieftains, off the back of a convincing 49-22 win against Melrose at Oriam last weekend, will want to keep their momentum and winning streak alive when they travel to Edinburgh rivals Watsonians FC. 

• Ayr RFC are looking to make it 15 wins from 15 games and extend their lead at the top of the table when they take on Hawick RFC at Mansfield Park.
