This season’s Sarah Beaney Cup finalists, Hillhead, take on newly promoted Biggar, as both sides sit on a win and a loss from the opening two rounds.
Both sides have impressed in their wins – Hillhead over Garioch, and Biggar over Cartha Queens Park – and they sit third and fifth respectively on the ladder.
With only seven rounds before the league splits into top four and bottom four, every match is crucial for Women’s Premiership sides, and both sides expressed a desire to seal a top four spot in preseason.
Be sure to catch the mid-table clash of Hillhead Jordanhill v Biggar on BBC ALBA, with a 7:35pm kick off on Friday night.
Five things to watch out for this weekend:
- Both Hawick and Selkirk go into round three looking for a maiden win this season, and it will be Selkirk travelling down the road to Mansfield Park on Saturday.
- Corstorphine Cougars lost their first league match since November 2023 last weekend against Watsonians and will be wanting to bounce back against an as-yet undefeated Stirling County side at Union Park.
- Also as-yet undefeated, newly promoted GHA take on Kelso, who have a win and a loss to their name. The Borderers travel to Braidholm on Saturday.
- Fresh off their huge result against Cougars last weekend, Watsonians welcome fellow Edinburgh side Heriot’s to Myreside. Heriot’s have won two on the trot and look a much-improved side from the 2024/25 season.
- Melrose have had a mixed start to the season, putting the sword to Heriot’s in round one before falling to GHA in the second. They host reigning champions Ayr on Saturday.
