After catching the rugby bug she joined Murrayfield Wanderers, playing there for two years before starting her senior rugby career at Watsonian FC.
Earlier this year Talei was named and featured in the Scotland Women U18 squad for the U18 Six Nations Festival in Wales, playing across the back row and front-row for Scotland.
Away from rugby, Talei is studying Developing Sporting Performance at Edinburgh College.
