Ellie Angharad Kate Williamson first picked up a rugby ball in her final year of rugby playing touch rugby at Bearsden Academy. This experience sparked a love of the sport and in 2019 she joined West of Scotland RFC to take up contact rugby.
Ellie has been with West of Scotland for five years but is dual registered to Premiership side, Garioch, playing with them following her road from recovery after a ruptured ACL and torn meniscus in 2022.
In the 2023/24 season, Ellie was drafted to Glasgow Warriors for the Celtic Challenge, making six appearances. Ellie’s first official 80 minutes back on the pitch was for Glasgow Warriors against Gwalia lightning in Cardiff Arms Park
Ellie is currently a supported player at the West Regional Training Centre.
