Arnold Clark Women’s Premiership second stage broadcast matches announced
Scottish Rugby can today confirm the two Arnold Clark Women’s Premiership second stage matches to be broadcast on BBC ALBA and iPlayer later this month and in November.
Following the completion of the first stage on Saturday, the league now splits into the top four and bottom four, for six further weekends of action.
This means the previously announced televised matches, slated for Friday 24 October and Friday 14 November, can now be confirmed.
The matches will feature league leaders Stirling County versus second-placed Watsonian FC, and fifth-placed Hillhead Jordanhill taking on Cartha Queens Park – in seventh – respectively.
Scottish Rugby head of competitions and compliance, Vicky Cox said:
“The bar that is being set in the Arnold Clark Women’s Premiership this season just continues to rise. The standard of play has been brilliant to watch and we’re thrilled to be able to continue to broadcast these important matches, in partnership with BBC ALBA.”
Stirling and Watsonians met on the opening day of this season at Myreside, with the visitors leaving triumphant, in a 34-17 scoreline. It’s the closest any team has come to defeating last season’s runners-up County.
And in the other rematch, Cartha Queens Park and Hillhead Jordanhill had a hard fought game in September, where home side Cartha were defeated 38-19 by Glasgow side Hills.
Scottish Rugby can also announce the Arnold Clark Women’s Premiership final is scheduled to be played on Saturday 13 December, and will kick off at 4.10pm. That match will also be broadcast live on BBC ALBA and iPlayer.
Arnold Clark Women’s Premiership stage two televised matches on BBC ALBA and iPlayer:
- Friday 24 October, Stirling County v Watsonian FC, 7.35pm kick off
- Friday 14 November, Hillhead Jordanhill v Cartha Queens Park, 7.35pm kick off
