Glasgow win FOSROC Academy U17 Festival at Oriam
Glasgow & the West U17 were triumphant in the FOSROC Academy U17 Festival at Oriam yesterday, beating Edinburgh U17 49-29 in the final.
Caledonia U17 finished the festival in third with a 51-12 win over Borders & East Lothian U17 in the 3rd/4th place playoff.
Edinburgh U18 were also victorious, winning 29-24 against Glasgow & the West, while Caledonia U18 beat Borders & East Lothian U18 29-19.
The U18 sides will play again at Oriam this weekend in the final of their academy festival.
Head of Pathways John Fletcher said: “It was great to see all the regional academies in action, and we saw some excellent rugby from all of the teams. My congratulations to Glasgow & the West on their U17 festival win over Edinburgh.
“It was great to see our blueprint curriculum implemented by the teams and there was some outstanding rugby played both sides of the ball.
“We are all looking forward to seeing more festival rugby this weekend. where the U18’s play at the Oriam.”
