Community Game Conference confirms Bryan Easson as keynote speaker

18 Mar 2025

Scotland Women’s head coach Bryan Easson headlines this year’s Community Game Conference in May at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

The annual Conference consists of workshops for the betterment of coaches, match officials and volunteers at all levels of the game across Scotland. Registration is again free of charge through the SCRUMS platform.

Every attendee to this year’s event will also receive a free coffee mug, courtesy of our partners at YETI. As has been a theme at recent Conferences, Scottish Rugby will also be fundraising for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, with donations optional on the day and in the lead up.

This year, the Community Game Conference returns on Saturday 17 May, building on the success of the 2024 Conference, which saw over 450 club, school, and society representatives attend.

Caroline Blair will host the Conference as Master of Ceremonies, leading a full day of keynote and guest speakers, club development workshops, strategic updates, as well as coach, match official and volunteer workshops.

The day is scheduled to run from about 9:30am until about 4pm.

Neil Graham, Scottish Rugby’s Head of Regional Pathways and Game Development said:

“We look forward to seeing everyone again for this year’s Conference. We were so pleased with the collegiate atmosphere and willingness to learn at the 2024 event. This really is a huge highlight on the Rugby Development calendar.

“It’s important that we take the time to bring together as many members of the grassroots community as possible to engage in meaningful conversation, develop their knowledge and skills, and the Community Game Conference is the perfect way to do this,” he said.

This year’s key speakers at the Community Game Conference are:

  • Bryan Easson, Scotland Women’s Head Coach
  • Warren Abrahams, Rugby Creative
  • Sophia Jowett, Loughborough University
  • Frank Dick OBE, Former Olympic and Paralympic Coach
  • Stuart Yule, Scottish Rugby Head of Physical Performance
  • Louise Dalgliesh, University of Edinburgh & Scotland U20 Women;
  • And more are to be announced closer to the time.

If you are interested, you can sign up now via SCRUMS. Further Community Game Conference details will be confirmed closer to the time.
