The Glasgow Warrior, who first donned the dark blue on the 2016 tour of Japan, lines up in the centre with clubmate Stafford McDowall as Scotland aim to make it four wins from four on this summer’s tour.

There are two players retained to the starting XV for the match at Montevideo’s Estadio Charrúa, with Kyle Rowe, fresh from scoring his first Scotland tries in last weekend’s win over Chile, switching to the wing and Ben Healy named at stand-off.

Winger Duhan van der Merwe, one shy of becoming Scotland Men’s outright all-time top try scorer, joins Harry Paterson at full-back to complete the back three with Rowe.

George Horne comes in to partner Healy at half-back.

An all-new pack sees Rory Darge captain the side from openside flanker, with Luke Crosbie featuring at blindside and Matt Fagerson listed at number 8.

Max Williamson and Scott Cummings form a fresh combination in the second row, the former having appeared in each of the three Tests on tour.

Ewan Ashman gets the nod at hooker, either side of propping duo Rory Sutherland (loosehead) and Javan Sebastian (tighthead).

The replacements include Jamie Dobie and Kyle Steyn, who will become ever-presents on the tour should they come on against Uruguay. Adam Hastings, Jamie Ritchie, Gregor Brown, Murphy Walker, Pierre Schoeman and Patrick Harrison, who debuted in the win over Chile, complete the matchday 23.
