Currie Chieftains v Hawick – Malleny Park, KO 2pm

Currie Chieftains will be looking to exact revenge on the reigning champions, Hawick, as they welcome the Borders outfit to Malleny Park on Saturday.

The sides last met in September when Hawick stormed to a 35-13 victory.

Both Hawick and Currie enjoyed wins last weekend, defeating Accies and Heriot’s Blues respectively, and will be eager to back those performances up this week.

Speaking to scottishrugby.org ahead of the game, Hawick’s Director of Rugby, Gary Muir said: “Following a good home win against Accies last weekend we are back on the road to Malleny Park to face an inform Currie side. Historically this has not been a happy hunting ground for us however we feel if we can impose ourself on the game early and play to our game plan we can get another positive result.

Musselburgh v Selkirk – Stoneyhill, KO 3pm

Selkirk are back on the road tomorrow as they look to get their own back on Musselburgh from their Round 5 loss where the Burgh side claimed the spoils 21-34, recording their second win of the season.

Since then, Musselburgh have earned four more wins to take themselves into a coveted top four placing.

Ahead of the clash, Musselburgh Head Coach, Derek O’Riordan said: “Selkirk are unlucky not to be further up the league and have a strong set-piece and power game. There is no doubt they will be targeting a win at Stoneyhill, recognising we haven’t put a run of games together since earlier this season despite some good results.  That presents a fantastic challenge for us at the weekend, one I hope we rise to.”

Selkirk suffered a heavy 17-50 loss last weekend to Marr and will be keen to bounce back this weekend.

Gordon Henderson, Head Coach at Selkirk said: “I was pretty disappointed in our second-half performance against Marr last week. Some teams have struggled to pick up points against Musselburgh this season but the squad is desperate for a reaction against them tomorrow. We’re confident that if we can turn around a full 80-minute performance, we’ll be in the game.

“Musselburgh are a good side and are well coached, but we have our own agenda to go to Stoneyhill and secure points. We’re really looking forward to the occasion.”

Kelso v Marr – Poynder Park, KO 3pm

After an unscheduled break last week due to frozen pitches, Kelso return to action on Saturday as they host Marr at Poynder Park.

In their last meeting, Marr walked in a 48-14 win.

Ahead of the game, Kelso Player/Coach, Bruce McNeil said: “Obviously we had last weekend off, so the lads feel fresh and rearing to go against an in-form Marr team. We’re looking to get off to a quick start and take advantage of the long bus journey they have, but we’re fully away they’re not to be taken lightly and will be hungry to get another win in the Borders.”

Marr’s Assistant Coach, Stephen Adair said: “We were really happy with the result last week against Selkirk however this week again poses a massive challenge down in the borders against Kelso. We are aware how good a side Kelso are and how much they have improved since our first meeting, so we must be focused and accurate for the full 80 minutes.”

A bonus-point win for Marr and loss for Hawick would result in Marr sneaking ahead to pole position in the table, so this could be a big weekend in the Premiership standings.

Jed-Forest v Heriot’s Blues – Riverside Park, KO 3pm

Finally, Heriot’s Blues make a trip to the Borders to face Jed-Forest.

Whilst Jed continue to look for their first win of the season, Heriot’s will be hoping to come back from their defeat to Currie last weekend.

In their previous meeting the Blues defeated Jed, 53-20.

Edinburgh Academical FC v Glasgow Hawks

This game has been postponed due to frozen pitches.

National Division 1

After a break last weekend due to frozen pitches, GHA and Glasgow Accies return to the action as they take on Dundee and GHK respectively.

Accies and GHK will go head-to-head at Anniesland, kicking off at 2pm. GHA and Dundee will face off at the Dundee RPC, kicking off at 3.45pm.

Watsonians will host league leaders Ayr at Peffermill Playing Fields, kicking off at 2.30pm.

Elsewhere, Highland and Biggar go face off at Canal Park, kicking off at 3pm, and it’s a Borders derby at the Greenyards as Gala host Melrose. Kick-off is at 3pm.
