Jade Elizabeth Konkel made her Scotland Women debut against England when she came on as a replacement in the opening 2013 Six Nations match.
Her first points came in the 2015 edition when she scored against Italy and she scored a brace against Ireland in the narrow defeat at Broadwood Stadium in the first round of the 2017 Championship. In 2018 Konkel scored tries against both Wales and England in that year’s Women’s Six Nations as well as against Canada in the 2018 Autumn Test.
The Glasgow Caledonian graduate in Social Work, played for Hillhead Jordanhill when she became Scottish Rugby’s first full-time female player in the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy in summer 2016.
Konkel joined top female French club Lille Metropole Rugby Club Villeneuvois (LMRCV) ahead of season 2017/18 while still remaining a Stage 3 player.
She is currently playing for Harlequins and has recently joined the London Fire Brigade.
Born in Inverness, and brought up on the Black Isle, Konkel grew up surrounded by rugby, with her mum, dad, younger and older brothers previously playing for Inverness Craig Dunain rugby club.
Konkel has also played basketball for Highland Bears and had two seasons in the national league.
