Two U18 men sides head to Newcastle for fixtures against Falcons and Wales
Two Scotland U18 Men sides will travel down to Kingston Park, Newcastle today to play a friendly fixture each.
Firstly, a Scotland U18 Development squad will take on Newcastle Falcons U18 at 1pm.
That will be followed by Scotland U18 taking on Wales U18, which is scheduled to start at 3pm.
Scotland’s travelling squad, which features over 35 clubs and schools, has been picked from regional academy players, who recently took part in two Edinburgh Rugby U18 v Glasgow Warriors U18.
There are also players involved who are involved in the Scottish Qualified (SQ) programme and are based outside of Scotland.
Today’s two matches provide the first Scotland U18 in their build up to the 2025 U18 Six Nations Festival.
More details on the festival will be confirmed next week.
Head Coach Ross Miller said: “This is an excellent opportunity for the coaches to view two full squads of players as we build towards our Six Nations Festival.
“We’ve been in training for a few weeks now and having competitive fixtures is the next step for us in our preparation.
“We’re looking to see how players perform against two good teams. It would be great to see some principles of play transferred from training through to the games today.”
