Preview: Ayrshire Bulls v FOSROC Future XV
The FOSROC Future XV continue their FOSROC Super Series Championship campaign this weekend as they travel to meet Ayrshire Bulls at Millbrae.
Despite conceding 40 points against the Millbrae outfit the last time the two met, the FOSROC Future XV will be looking to return with the competitive play they showed last week against league leaders Heriot’s.
Ayrshire Bulls currently sit second in the table, continuing their powerful performance that gained them first place in the FOSROC Super Series Sprint earlier this year.
This week sees a settled squad visit the Bulls, with only three changes to the starting fifteen. Amena Caqusau is rotated back into the starting wing position after being rested against Heriot’s last weekend and Ryan Burke comes in to replace Liam McConnell (who was injured last weekend) in the second row. Robbie Deans returns to starting prop after recovering from his injury.
Head coach Scott Forrest said: “Millbrae is one of the toughest places to go and play and is exactly the type of experience these young players need to be exposed to.
“Our first half against Heriots showed a lot of improvements from the previous game against the Wolves and that is what we are looking for again this Saturday. We have started to see some more consistency in our selection which we hope starts to translate into our performances on the pitch.
“Some of our individual performances have been outstanding over the course of the season, our challenge of our remaining matches is to see a big step up in our performance as a team.”
