Scotland U18 men’s squad named for Cardiff training camp

4 Aug 2023

Head Coach Ross Miller has named a training squad to head to Cardiff for a development camp with Wales, Italy and Ireland.

The squad travel down to Cardiff tomorrow morning, and will train for a week before short matches against Italy, Wales and Ireland on Friday 11 August.

The camp follows on from a similar one at Stirling University last year with Scotland, Italy and Wales.

The matches last 30 minutes with no intervals. Scotland start against Italy at 10am before playing Wales at 1pm and Ireland at 1.50pm.

The matches are at Cardiff Arms Park and are free to enter.

Ross said: “This development camp will give the majority of the squad a first exposure to international rugby at this age grade.

“We will have double sessions throughout the week which will replicate a full time environment, and it will be great to train with the other nations and experience other playing styles.

“Playing against some international opposition gives the players the chance to practice what we’ll work on in training in an intense game environment, which is invaluable.

“The coaches are looking forward to working with this group and putting them through their paces.”
