Two Edinburgh Rugby U16 sides take on two Glasgow Warriors U16 sides at Hive Stadium on Sunday.
The day represents a first opportunity to represent one of Scotland’s professional sides at youth level for the players involved.
First, Edinburgh Gunners U16 play Glasgow Warriors Whites U16 at 1pm, then at 3pm Edinburgh Reivers U16 host Glasgow Warriors Blues U16.
The squads have been picked from the FOSROC regional academy sides that took part in a festival on the Murrayfield back pitches last weekend.
Head of Pathways John Fletcher said: “We are looking forward to seeing the four regional academies merge from Caledonia and Glasgow and the West to represent Glasgow Warriors, and Edinburgh and Borders and East Lothian to represent Edinburgh Rugby.
“It’s important that the players feel a sense of belonging to the two pro teams and start to understand the unique cultures at both clubs.
“This is still very much the start of the representative journey for the players lots of the players and I’m excited to watch both teams rip into each other as they focus on the blueprint curriculum.”
