Named as Edinburgh’s Player of the Year in 2019, Schoeman qualified on residency grounds in 2021 and made his Scotland debut against Tonga later that year, scoring a try into the bargain.

‘Schoooo’ as he is affectionately called by Edinburgh and Scotland fans alike, was an ever-present in both subsequent Guinness Six Nations campaigns and he featured at Rugby World Cup 2023 in games against South Africa, Tonga and Ireland.
