Scrum-half George Horne became the 1097th player to represent Scotland when he started the national team's 30-29 defeat to USA in Houston, Texas, on the 2018 summer tour.

After a rugby schooling at Bell Baxter High and then Strathallan, livewire scrum-half George Horne made his Glasgow Warriors debut as a 20-year-old, scoring a try in a friendly against The British Army to give foresight of an eye for the line that has already garnered 34 tries for his club.

A Scotland bow came against USA on Scotland’s 2018 summer tour, where he notched a brace against Argentina a week later in Resistencia – brother Pete kicking 14 points in the same game. Horne was selected for Scotland’s 2019 Rugby World Cup squad, featuring in three games and scoring an outstanding hat-trick against Russia in the Pool A encounter.

He featured in a second World Cup in 2023, scoring in the win over Tonga.

A prolific 7s player, Horne scored 18 tries in seven events on the abbreviated circuit between 2016 and 2018.
