Eligible via his father who was born in Scotland, Dylan Richardson made his Scotland debut off the bench against Japan in November 2021.
Richardson has been at the Durban Sharks since 2019, and came off the bench as they won the EPCR Challenge Cup in London in 2024.
He won his first Scotland cap against Japan in 2021, replacing Hamish Watson for the final exchanges of a 29-20 victory.
Having largely played in the back row throughout his professional career, Richardson featured as a hooker throughout the 2023/24 season for Sharks, earning him a Scotland recall in his new position ahead of the 2024 Skyscanner Americas Tour.
He enjoyed an eye-catching outing in his first front row international, scoring a try brace in the tour opener against Canada in Ottawa,
