Having joined Edinburgh Rugby on a FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy deal in 2014, Rory went on to make nearly 100 appearances for the club, a heady tally for a talented player whose international cap numbers were curtailed often by untimely injury.
Having returning to Scotland duty in 2020, his exceptional form led to a British & Irish Lions call-up the year after and he earned two full Test caps on that tour to South Africa, the first Scottish prop to do so since the great Tom Smith in 2005.
He experienced a first Rugby World Cup in France in 2023, featuring against Tonga, Romania and Ireland.
After stints with Worcester Warriors, Ulster and Oyonnax, Sutherland signed a two-year deal with URC champions Glasgow Warriors ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
